ok so, i'm trying to transfer a movie from my laptop to my dad's laptop. i'm getting stop and go speeds at 20-60 kb/s.
i can't seem to figure out what's going on here. the movie is only ~3.2gb. and it's saying its going to take over 5.5 hrs
i can't remember what kind of speeds i used to get through my network, but a file this size used to take roughly 2-6 minutes
both laptops are wirelessly connected to the network, one running win7, other running winxp
i realize i could use a flash drive, but that's not the point. these transfers never used to be this slow. i'm on a 20mb/s connection
anyone got any ideas?
ps, i'm positive both machines are clean, no viruses/spyware/malware etc, no firewalls blocking any traffic, all that good stuff
tried port forwarding, flushing dns, no torrents running, disabling AV/firewalls
this current issue is transferring from win7 to winxp, but it seems to be a problem with all computers on the network, windows7 and winxp
