When I set my ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe BIOS to Boot from CD for discs like BARTPE, Hiren's Boot CD, or even the original Windows XP Home CD, the boot is extremely slow - I mean hours. It starts out like it is booting, saying it is starting the program (for example, "starting BARTPE"), with a white progress bar at the bottom that goes all the way to the right. I can hear the CD spinning, then it stops spinning and the system just sets there, still saying it is starting the program. If I am lucky, 2 hours later, it starts back up and finally boots to the CD.
I am using a BENQ DW1655 as the drive. It works flawlessly for DVD and CD burning and reading.
Any ideas?
