Extremely low voltage on my 3800 X2 - what's wrong here?

I've been having some issues with the computer I just put together. It's performing below average in regards to published benchmarks and I'm trying to suss out the culprit. CPU-Z is reporting that both cores of my 3800 X2 are only getting .032 v. Isn't that low?

Thanks!

The voltage definitely wrong. Try using MBM5 or use the latest monitor software from the mobo maker and see if it solves the problem.

Unfortunately, MBM5 doesn't support my motherboard - it's an eVGA 133-K8-NF41 and the motherboard manufacturer doesn't have any sort of monitor software. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Try everest or speedfan to check your voltages. Does CPU-z identify everything else correctly? You may just need a newer version. A lot of motherboards come with software for monitoring temps and voltages as well..

supafly rocks the house, coming to my aid once again.

alrighty, here's the latest - my guard is saying that VSB3 and VCC3 are abnormal - VCC3 is 2.87-2.89V (fluctuating) and VSB3 is 2.91V. Just for good measure, here are the other readings:

5V - 4.58
12V - 11.6
VBAT - 2.64
VCORE - 1.35
NB 1.5V - 1.47
5VSB - 5.04
VDIMM - 2.61

Is one of those the voltage on the cpu? I had an idea - I bought the TrueControl 2.0 power supply but didn't hook up the external controller for the voltage/fan speed. Could that be the problem? My guess is that my CPU isn't getting enough juice and thus not performing as well as it should be.

Thanks again, all!

I installed the 5 1/4" control panel bay for the power supply. Sure enough, it leveled out the voltages a bit. I tweaked the knobs a bit more and got the voltages just about where they should be. My 3dMark05 cpu score went up over 150 points, but it's still on the low side, right around 5100.

I'm stumped. I've checked this thing up and down and just can't figure out where I'm going wrong. Can anyone provide me with some sanity?

Have you installed the X2 driver yet? http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Tec...lResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html

Yeah, the voltage of the proc (both cores) looks fine in MyGuard. It is screwy in both SiSoft and CPU-Z.

Of course I installed that driver. It was (indirectly) the cause of me reinstalling Windows three times, so of course I wouldn't give up until I installed it. I don't know if it's doing anything, but it is installed.

I ran Aquamark3 and scored almost 800 points below the score achieved by SharkyExtreme -

Usually with computer parts, they either work or they don't - it's rare that they are a little slow. The cardboard container that the processor came in (the one inside the box) was pretty wrecked - any chance it got a little messed up? Is there any chance that the motherboard is causing the discrepancies?

I feel like I'm stretching here, but I'm completely out of ideas.

More stats: According to SiSoft Sandra, my memory bandwidth is only reaching around 71% usage. I've got 2 1GB sticks of Dual Channel OCZ memory with 2-3-2-5 timings.

Does anyone have any ideas?
