Extremely low 3dmark03 benchmarks from A8N in Sli

The size difference is just the language pacs that are added to the international drivers.

The reason I mentioned clearing CMOS.

Both times the card in slot1 died in my rig, Only after I cleared CMOS would the "Good" card work properly in slot1 in single mode.

In my experience every time I switched from SLI mode to single mode or visa versa I had to reset CMOS to get the bios to properly recognise the card(s). There is a widely reported bios bug on this board that causes bios to get corrupted whenever you shutoff power to the motherboard and change or add hardware.

Asus should have printed on the box "THE CMOS JUMPER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND":laugh:

AND my score in 3dmark03 is "drum roll" -> 4729!!!!!

Rubbish....

I just got my score using 3d mark 3 in SLI and I scored 13182 3D marks.

My Rig.

Athlon 64 3500+ 90nm Winchester core AI booster slightly overclocked, 3% to 2.266Mhz 825mhz FSB @ 16000 MT/s

2 XFX 6600 GT's in SLI mode.

1GB Ultra PC3200/DDR/400Mhz ram. 2x 512MB in Duel channel memory config.

Antec 550W 2.03 compliant PSU with 24 pin connector.

For my config, this was the highest score yet, & the best bang for the buck!
I know I would have done alot better with twin 6800 GT/OC GPU's, but the prices are ridiculous!!

I've tested games like Far Cry, UT2004, UT-GOY, COD, BF1942, MOHAA. All my games run steller performance! Not one glich!! no kidding!

A new bios version was released today, #1004 fixes another SLI issue & more.

Re-formatted my machine, updated bios to 1003 from 1001 and installed latest stable nvidia drivers:

3dmark03 - 13k
aquamark - 60k ish

So it was a driver issue that could only be rectified from a clean install - this concerns me. Does this mean that when updating a driver for best performance I may need to clean the hard disk??? Anyone have any experience in this matter to contradict?

I have to make a correction.
After downloading the new Bios# 1004, I came to find out it is BUGGED!

If was giving me false CPU FAN FAILED Alarms.
I called Asus & spoke to a Tech Rep, & he tells me the 1004 Bios is in Beta form!

OH great! Why did you release it I asked??

The Tech's reply,, It's there for testing it!!!

Then he tells me flash back to 1003. SO I did !
