Extremely crap FPS on 1900xtx in Rainbow Six Vegas

Hi

I just started Vegas and in the first 60seconds I can tell you htat during fights I only get around 10FPS, maybe upto 15 and in intensive areas I get in 20s or lower without fights.
Overall the game runs unplayable.

Most other games give me good FPS and playable performance other than DA and Serious Sam 2(which is not half as bad though).

Is everybody getting these crappy FPS with similar rigs?

My A64 Winchester is oced to 2.4GHz, I have 2GB RAM and a 1900xtx. I am running 1280x960 MAX with Hardware Skinning On.

I am using drivers 6.12beta and Hardware skinning on. I am getting bad FPS in Opengl titles I think with these drivers.
Anyway, what settings do you play it on?

1024x768 no AA/AF, Hardware skinning.

I don't run with any of the fancy eye candy setting on...I prefer frame rate over IQ

because you have unrealistic expectations from your hardware and until you realise this you will suffer with crap performance....you need to back off your settings in many games to achieve optimal performance.

and at your settings I still get frame rates around the 25FPS with minor drops in heavy firefights.

EDIT: I miss read your OP...I tried it at 1280x1024, not 1280x960....not that it would make much difference anyway.

Is there image tearing this time or is it just bad FPS?If it isjust bad FS dump the beta and trun down AA to 2xAA and turndoen some ofthe ingame settings.
And do what stumps said to?(if u haven't already)

Already tried to get the mods to do that....pretty much as long as he isn't insulting any one he can irritate as much as he wishes....he reminds me of a bad case of haemorroids.

But I'm sure if he cut back on his AA/AF settings a bit, IIRC he runs with those maxed out...of course his X1900XTX would struggle, he would get reasonable frame rates.

Akshayt unless you're trying to be funny with these threads and possibly thinking you can play jokes this is becoming stupid man..

You will face various issues/problems as a pc user/gamer and the forums are a place where you can discuss some of them
But seriously you need to make some research for yourself and most importantly READ well about similar issues before you start a thread. It might take you some time but eventually you'll start grasping the main idea behind most of your problems or at least you'll be able to check some things on your own first before you post.
Trying to learn everything by continually posting will not get you anywhere. It will only make other members criticize you and make fun of you.

For example in this specific thread.. You are asking about you gpu's performance. The first thing you should do is check for RS: Vegas benches in the net. You can always think that Vegas is based on Unreal 3 engine which will automatically create mediocre performance standards for the vast majority of the GPUs. You could also check for particular issues of your card with the game on the game forums. If you have done all these and you conclude that something is wrong with your system then you can post. This is the main idea.. Of course sometimes ALL of us might create a silly thread to discuss such issues from time to time but if this is happening all the time then you will get that sort of attitude from forum members..

wow...this thread has turned into "101 ways to roast a akshayt". not once in any of his post did akshayt ask for "help" or advice, he simply wanted to compare his rigs perfomance to other similiar setups...nothing wrong with that.

I am playing with no AA and AF. And if Stumps can get 25FPS with his rig, there is no reason for me not to get atleast 40-50FPS while I just get about 20FPS. The problem is not image tearing but BAD FPS this time.

its not so much his thread but his replies. he does not follow insturction, takes too long to get to topic, interupts his own threads, tells stories about why he does not have a screw driver!!!
it stiff like that that annoys ppl. not the stupid question. i am sure if he asked the same questions (or even dumber question) and actually behaved well he'd get more done and be better respected.

It's not you.
It's a lot like Splinter Cell Double Agent.

It pretty much performs badly on a lot of computers, depending on what settings you use of course.

With my rig in sig I don't really measure the FPS but the playability of it. It's playable if I turn the settings down to medium but everything else is on.

What settings are you using? (and AA/AF doesn't matter since it's not really applied anyway).

what are you trying to say...my rig is slow.

obviously it isn't if it smokes yours.

And there is A reason....you can't setup a PC for sh!t, a blind monkey could do a better job than you.

I have seen benchies and a 1900xtx gets 46FPS at 12x9 MAX. I am using the same settings. No AA, no AF.

your computer is screwed. sell it and buy a xbox 360. at least then you'll complain of low fps, and stuttering on the xbox forums.
