Extremely annoying notification on Android Lollipop

I have a Nexus 5 with Android 5.1. For a while now a notification with the text, "Internet connection is established", keeps popping up at the bottom of the screen. I can't pinpoint it to any particular app so I'm not sure if it is part of the OS or not. It is drving me crazy though. There are no changes in my connectivity that I notice. This happens on both LTE and wifi. Anyone else experience this problem?

Long press on the notification and it should give you a little i in the notification. Press this and it will bring you to a settings screen for that application where you will see what application is giving the notification and give you the option to block notifications from that application.

The notification is actually called a notification toast which is to say one of those notifications that hovers over the bottom portion of your screen and then disappears into the virtual distance.

Do you have any apps on your phone that will automatically connect you to an open WiFi AP? I know Cricket has an app that will automatically find and connect you so that you aren't 3G/4G/LTE all of the time.

I don't believe so. It seems the notification started popping up around the time I installed Whatsapp.

If you have xposed installed download the xtoast module, it'll add the app name to the toast notification and you'll know which app is responsible for it.

Just in case anyone stumbles on this thread with the same issue, I had to disable notifications for the QNAP apps that I use with my NAS.
