Why do people stutter?

From the website: http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/kuster/kids/kidfaq.html#whatcauses

"What makes you stutter?

We don't know the cause of stuttering but we do know that all people who stutter stutter more at certain times. Some people may stutter more if they are excited, tired, nervous, or upset. Some people stutter more when they first wake up in the morning. Some people stutter more when they try and talk really fast, when they're thinking of a word they want to say, or when they are feeling afraid about talking to a certain person. Even if you stutter, it probably doesn't happen all of the time. Most people don't stutter when they read in unison, sing, or talk to animals. Listen carefully to others around you. What you will notice is that everyone stutters sometimes."

I didn't find that a bit funny but then again I feel sorry for fat people in that other thread.

Why don't the people who laughed at the fat people thread and said all they have to do is stop eating join this thread and explain why this guy just needs to spit it out?

He's not stuttering by choice. The fat people (what thread is this?? I missed it) are perfectly capable of not being fat in most cases. They just choose to be lazy.

Then why doesn't he stutter when he says "sorry"? He could talk right if he wanted to. :goat:

It's a speech impediment. Some words end up being hard for him to say vs. other words.

Face it, he is stuttering by choice. He can say "sorry" over and over without stuttering but can't even say his first name on the phone.

See how cruel it is to judge people's afflictions?

He can't help it anymore than a morbidly obese person can stop being hungry. You just don't get it.

WhyTF would someone stutter by choice? 😕
Attention?

Seriously, I was making a point that he can't help stuttering any more than a morbidly fat person can stop thinking they are hungry. It is not kind to judge people with physical/psychological problems.

Bullshit.

Just because they are hungry doesn't mean they have to eat.

I can get hungry and not eat. Or I can eat but eat something healthy. And I'm SO SURE that these obese people are out there exercising and have always been exercising the entire time before they were obese until now...
