I love AMD I'm waiting for my shiney new xp2600+ and I got a cool hat. I can't wait to get my new proc. Watch out seti.

Oh everyone might find this funny, in the system rigs contest one of the contestants started a small fire. It seems the power supply didn't like it's wires being crosses when connected to the floppy drive. Needless to say his maching didn't benchmark too well.

Waiting for your 2600+? You mean you won one but they didn't have it at the show? AMD is not at the shows, it is a Promotions Company.

At the Atlanta show one guy screwed the Motherboard directly to the case without the standoffs, instant death to that nice new Motherboard when he fired that one up. JW talked to him after the show because he was parked near us and the guy said he was the lead Tech for a large Retail chain and he siad he couldn't believe he made that mistake but chalked it up to the pressure of the contest

, I won't devulge what chain of stores that was.

I'm 100% confident they will probably not run a Battle of the Boxes contest in a promotion ever again.

Hey Fingers. Glad to see that you got to go. My little girl got sick yesterday so I stayed home with her. So, what kind of turnout did they have?

there was about 500 people there. There were some engineers there and the one I talked to knew about seti and was part of the team designing hammer and said the thing would stomp any CPU around. I was told that that the memory latency was 20 times better. not 20% better, but 20 times better.

I thought it was going to be in a pretty bad part of town, but after I got there it seemed so much better. Here in Virginia Beach I have never seen a homless person offer you watch your car for you 🙂

All in all it was a good show.
