And you're assuming that everyone dressed like a cop is a cop.

fear debate...no chance for fear in the USA. Move to Canada or France/etc.

if you really fear call 911 and report it immediately and tell them where you are driving to. They will sort it out.

I don't see many 'gangsta' peeps walking out on highways for a robbery especially with another driver or two pulled over.

However more threads like this will plant that idea into the scared american's head and the scum will rise to meet it.

The guy with the camera is such a dipshit. The cops didn't do anything wrong as far as I could see.

Actually impressed with the Black Cop. He was actually pretty civil dealing with this nutbag.

That said... this is fucking retarded of the police.

The camera guy was too much of a douchebag to watch the whole thing. I got through about as far as him trying to liken the situation to highway men and robbing stagecoaches.

A cop did this to me back in the late 90's. It was starting to get dark and all I could tell was some nut job had stepped off the center median into my lane and was holding their hand up in a stop position. For all I know it's some psyco killer that wants to fill my ears with seamen. So I cut over into the other lane and as I speed by I yell "get the fuck out of the road retard!" while finally seeing it's a cop. He just yelled "slow down!!!" but didn't try to come after me.

Pissed me off.

Whatever point he's trying to make is lost because he's so obnoxious.

Pretty much this. Didn't finish the video because the guy was so annoying. I didn't see Cops doing anything "dangerous"(to themselves or others) up to that point. Stepping onto the road to wave Speeders or others infracting the Law is very common. It makes the Driver know that they are being pulled over.

Just another person trying to be a Youtube sensation.

This. It's always the same type of personality behind the camera too. "Oooh I got you on camera, it's my right to film you, I'm going to post this for the world to see". I'd rather see little kids hitting their fathers in the nuts with a wiffle ball bat, and I used to hate AHV!

Cops do that all the time in residential areas.
What's the big deal?
Yeah it sucks, but if the people were going close to the speed limit, it wouldn't be dangerous.

I see nothing wrong with cops patrolling residential streets more strictly.

BTW, wasn't the camera guy jay walking? You're not allowed to walk down the middle of a street like that, are you? I know there weren't sidewalks, but that doesn't mean you can walk in the middle of the roadway.

:) that is sort of what I was thinking. I'm not pulling over until I see red flashing lights behind me. If they ask "why didn't you pull over" I would answer "Would you pull over for a random stranger in the middle of the street?"

I hope you are kidding or don't operate a motor vehicle. Most jaywalking laws are based directly on a pedestrian's right of way "except where a specified crossing is provided." Cars do not own the road.

Why do cops rarely use turn signals?

Dont think I have ever seen a cop use turn signals for lane changing.

Wouldn't work. You can't ignore a traffic cop's specific direction and yet they clearly have the authority without blue flashing lights. Note: BLUE! red is extra. Non-police emergency vehicles can't use blue.

I like how the OP describes it as a "crazy" and "extreme" measure and everyone else thinks it's either perfectly normal or slightly unconventional.

That varies by state - I was a little confused with a Charger with tons of blue lights pulled up to an accident on the highway in NJ...it was a volunteer firefighter.

Wow that citizen was annoying.
And at the end he's walking down the middle of the side street filming himself talk. I would have laughed if he'd have been hit by a car at that moment.
If he doesn't like that method of enforcement, fine, take it to city hall. He had no business distracting the officers right there.

ROFL. And when you pull into a grocery store parking lot, I'm sure you cower in your car with the doors locked until there is no one around. I mean, you wouldn't assume every civilian walking by is actually not a threat would you? They could be a criminal waiting for your door to open, who will then POUNCE ON YOU AND BUTT RAPE YOU!

drove right by there today. the flashing light you can see down the street on the other side is a permanent radar speed sign. that's how bad speeding is right there. people regularly go 45 on a residential street.
