Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

This show is pretty crazy. The transform the entire house including the appliance, television to plasma tv, furnishing, etc.

Now if Ty Pennington could talk less, the show might be real good.

i think the show is really cool...i especially like how they help families that really deserve it, not just some random family....the last 2 episdes were pretty emotional, especially the one where the 8 kids lost both of their parents in 16 days to heart attacks.

You forgot to mention that the mortage on their house (after the makeover) was paid in full. That was amazing to watch the reaction of the kids.

Thats my take on it too.. I like this show especially because they help families that really deserve it. Not just some rich family that applied and won. That 8 kids one was a great episode. All girls and 1 boy. I even got teary eyed. I think its a great show.

there was an article in newsweek recently where the IRS and other tax people are trying to go after people who get this done claiming it increases their property value and that its counted as earned income.

Basically as it was stated, the xtreme makeover folks rent the house from the owners for a period of days and repay them with new furniture, appliances, a trip, etc.

that way, the xtreme makeover show can write it off as a business expense as well I believe.
