I decided the other day that the Smith and Wesson AR I bought a while back (Picture)looked ugly, and it needed a makeover, along with a good light.

The first thing I replaced as the holographic sight. I bought a Trijicon ACOG TA01 off of a friend for an awesome price, and got a Larue flattop mount for it (this acog normally mounts on a carry handle, but my rifle does not have one).

I then decided to go with a black/flat dark earth color scheme, and got all my parts from Larue Tactical today.

Anyways, here are the pics -

Parts

Completed rifle (with other tan/black toys posing with it)

In total, here is what I put on the rifle -

Trijicon ACOG TA01 optics, used $600
Larue mount for ACOG, quick detach $125
Daniel Defense quick detatch rail sling adapter $40
Surefire M600C flashlight with Larue throw-lever mount $379
Magpul CTR stock $99
Magpul M1AD pistol grip $45
Magpul enhanced trigger guard $19
Magpul Ladder rail cover $12
Magpul XT rail panels (three total) $30
Magpul windowed Pmag (Two total with this order) $36
Magpul pmag ranger plate, 3 pack $15
Blue Force Gear Vickers padded sling $69
QD sling adapter for buttstock $15

They were even nice enough at Larue to throw in a hat, one of their machined bottle openers, and a jar of steak-rub.

I sure think it looks pretty now after its makeover, cant wait to go sight in the new acog.

Nice!

ACOGs are awesome. My cousin completed SDM training, (was the top gun in his class) several months ago and is supposed to deploy to Afghanistan next month or so, and he's getting a M-14 with hopefully a Trijicon or Leopold scope, along with M-240.

wow, the gun looked way better before your mods.

I have several ARs, and most of them all are all black. The color was just getting old, decided to go with a different look this time.

i still think the best rifle is the 1893 lee enfield 303. i have two, one that is original, and one that was converted to a deer rifle by my dad (before i was born, thanks).
Much more a joy to fire then any of the m16/ar series, especially better then a m4/ar carbine.
i remember the first m16 i was given still had the mattel stamp on it. i always wondered if it had been to vietnam and somehow made it back in a usable fashion.

ummm... why would you need several??? they're not like in a bunker with 10,000 rounds and 6 months of canned goods are they?

come to think of it, that thing was pretty much a toy...what a scary vivid memory.

but on topic....

the wildlife in the pacific northwest is shivering with the sight of such a gun.

Because it is a real weaponlight, not a pocket flashlight. They are built to withstand being abused, recoil, muzzle blast, etc.

The light is an LED, and will put out 120 lumens of light. Very bright little bastard.

please, everyone knows a maglite just isn't trendy enough for uber home defense. nothing says get out of my single wide like an assault rifle with an expensive flashlight stuck on it.

This flashlight is 4 times brigher than a 5 D cell maglight, so no thanks. I would rather have a broken surefire than every maglite ever made.
