Extreme M/b Problem - Any Help?

I have an ASUS A7V m/b, 256 MB PC-133 SDRAM, a Duron 800 MHz. Recently, the power supplied died. Turned it on, it smelled burnt, and haven't used it since. I got a new power supply, plugged it in, but now the computer will not POST. It gives a beeping error message saying there is no RAM detected. Thought maybe the dying PS fried the RAM, but I tested the stick on an ACORP motherboard and it worked just fine. Is there any way to test the DIMM sockets on the motherboard (with a voltmeter or something) to see if there's a problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the idea, but it's still not working. I think when the PS burnt out, it must have trashed the DIMM slots at the least, since I'm likely looking at a new m/b. Oh well. Such is life.
