I have an ASUS A7V m/b, 256 MB PC-133 SDRAM, a Duron 800 MHz. Recently, the power supplied died. Turned it on, it smelled burnt, and haven't used it since. I got a new power supply, plugged it in, but now the computer will not POST. It gives a beeping error message saying there is no RAM detected. Thought maybe the dying PS fried the RAM, but I tested the stick on an ACORP motherboard and it worked just fine. Is there any way to test the DIMM sockets on the motherboard (with a voltmeter or something) to see if there's a problem?

i know this is probably a no-brainer, but did you check to make sure the new power supply is switched to the correct voltage? 115 - 120 for US and Japan & 220 for Europe?

Yeah. I've cleared the CMOS (which, by the way, is not done with a jumper like ASUS claims). And I've double checked the power supply. Nothing. I think the DIMM slots were fried when the power supply crapped out. I've tested all three with three different sticks of RAM and still nothing. Oh well. Time for a new one then. Thanks for the suggestions though!!!
