I was gonna use ATI Tool to start my OC adventure with this X800XL, but I enabled the temp sensor and found that my windows temp was 50*C!

I tried to find the max core speed suing ATI Tool for my GPU and the temp quickly skyrocketed to 70*C!!

Is this what this card is supposed to be running at with stock cooling?? Keep in mind this is the Connect3D card with reference cooling at best.

Can you guys reccomend a good cooling solution? Nothing overkill though please, save my poor bank account.

Thanks

70C seems pretty fine to me. IN early 6800GT days it wasnt uncommon to see temps above 80 or even 90C

Yeah, GPUs tend to run pretty hot. I wouldn't worry too much until it starts going over 80C undeer load. I have the zalman vf700 cooler and I like it. It was easy to install, cheapish, quiet (almost silent in 5V mode), and cools pretty well... The ATI silencer is arguably the best, but it is a bit more expensive...
