Extreme budget

I want to upgrade from a Celeron 600 mhz 1MB onboard video and 64MB RAM. I was thinking about upgrading to a socket 754 Sempron 2600 and a motherboard with onboard video(until I can afford something better) and a stick of 512 RAM and a new PSU for my case. I just need somthing decent. What do you think.

Onboard video is a minimal arrangement, and only some newer intel based mbs claim to have better onboard video. For any kind of gaming you need a video card. Which one depends on what you are willing to spend - AT's June 2005 Video price guides should be a good place to start. And while you may tempted by a AGP card, I would prefer PCIe, if there are 754 boards with PCIe.

If you want a super-budget machine, get a Dell on special that has a 16x PCIe slot, then upgrade video cards when you've got the money.

whatever you do, don't buy something pre built. build it yourself. I made that mistake and now I'm stuck with a cheap e-machines case with no airflow design whatsoever, and a motherboard with a bios that I can't update because e-machines ripped out the digital audio and serial ports.

I thought I already stated I wanted to build my own. I have about $150-$200, I am upgrading so I have a case, Hd, monitor and disk drives I was thinking.
$70 Sempron
$50 MOBO
$35 Ram
$35 PSU

should have got in on the deal at Comp Useless last night, they had a sempron machine go for $200
