Some of you guys are really good at coming up with cheap PC builds for around $500. Let's up the difficultly, and shoot for a $100 budget!

To make things easier, used PC parts and PC's are an option. Feel free to use Craigslist or EBay, but keep in mind that you need to include tax and shipping charges.

The goal is to come up with the fastest PC gaming rig you can find. It needs to include all of the parts needed for the PC to be operational, including the operating system, keyboard, and mouse. A monitor is optional.

Happy hunting!

Hmm. That's a toughie. I don't have links on me for proof, but I'll tell you some prices I've seen:

Core 2 Duo E6600, S775 motherboard, and 4GB RAM: $50
GTX 8800: $25
Case and PSU: $20
80GB IDE: $5

Assuming the case has a Windows XP sticker, that's a grand total of $100 with OS. I'd say you could probably play WoW on medium settings for $100 :D

little over budget but...
the rest can be found dumpster diving, like any CRT monitor you want, with enough legwork.

The os definitely linux. *shrug*

Done.

Honestly with that kind of budget I just send people to geeks anymore. They always have a good deal in that range with good grunt for the money.

How about a PS2?

Or maybe you could pick one up used. For instance I have an old core 2 duo system with a 9800GT sitting around collecting dust that I would probably sell for a hundred dollars cash to someone local so I didnt have to bother with shipping.
