extream artifacting and crash during cryostasis

hi guys.
i was playing cryostasis, and there were so many artifact that initially i thought it was part of the game. after about 10 minutes i figured it out and a few minutes later my computer shut down.

is this a bad card, or is something else wrong ?

Sounds like a bad card or a driver problem. Are you overclocking as Yoda asked? Are you experiencing any problems in any other games or just this demo?

FarCry 2 has some seriously messed up trees when you apply AA with some ATI cards. It's not the card's fault, it's the drivers and developers. I would think that in this title, seeing as how it's developed around nVidia tech and touting PhysX, that ATI is going to have some issues to work out.

Yeah, try other games to see if they work. Otherwise, download FurMark and run the stress test.

I don't know how yous can say that this is a hardware problem when Windows 7 is still a beta. My guess is that the OP has found a bug.

I agree that it does sound like it could be the card overheating, but I wouldn't say it so definitively considering the OS.
