Extracting an archive with WinRAR

Wierd thing....

I've got a big WinRAR file (like 5.5 gigs, its got old emu stuff in it like mame and neo geo) and everytime I try and extract it it resets my computer. It always nears 100% then windows reboots (and the files arent extracted on reboot). I figured my desktop was the problem...so I put the file on my external and tried to unRAR it to my laptop. Same story....

Anyone seen this before??
 
Huh, well I tried another archive program 7 Zip and worked fine. I wonder why.

My comps been buggin' big time lately anyway...I think there is a piece of hardware in there somewhere going bad (shouldn't be the PSU...its new). Decoding vids it randomly resets...as well as when playing CS:Source.
 
What version of WINRAR are you running ? ?
They recently released 3.60 Beta 6
If it is a beta version, that could be the cause
Try either reverting to the last final release 3.5
ot if 3.6 is up to final, try that
