Extra time in Jacksonville today - ideas?

I have the day to myself in the Jacksonville area today. I've already been in/around St. Augustine. Savannah and Daytona look too far for a day trip (though if they're worth it for a day trip, I'll reconsider!). Anything worth checking out in the Jacksonville area? Someone once said Amelia Island was a nice drive. Are any of the beaches nice?
 
beaches are less crowded than the more popular cities. cleaner too. quality wise is pretty much the same up and down the east coast IMO.

no real opinion on what to actually do other than beaches and maybe eating at theme restaurants they have everywhere else.
