I have had ADSL for a couple of weeks now with a 576k connection. But for some reason no matter how many times i try to reconnect in the hope I get a better connection, my download speed varies from 5k to 35k. Not very good for a 576k connection. I was hoping for at least an average of 40 - 50k.
I am aware it depends on what site you are downloading from, but I have spoken with a friend who is on cable and lives about 13 miles from me, and we have downloaded form same sites at same time, and he seems to get good 50 - 60k from the same sites.
What tricks or whatever are available to me to assist in the speed aspect.
Or are you aware what the supplier can do to test it out for me.
I live in the UK and my supplier is BT Openworld.
Any thoughts please.
