extra molex connector?

i have a Q about my case fans. they come attached with both a male and female molex connectors. is it fine if you connect the male straight to a PSU connector and connect another device to the female or is that a bad idea and every "device" (drive, fan, cathode light) should get its own connection to the PSU?

EDIT: Here's a diagram if my question isn't very clear.

Assuming Male side goes to the PSU, its okay to chain another device, like a cathode light to the femal eside?

Those are called Pass Thru connectors and that is exactly what they are for - so you can tap in a fan w/o losing the drive connector entirely. A lot of people just daisy chain all their fans off one drive connector from the PSU.

Yup.

I try to keep important stuff out of chains, chains are for fans and bling bling stuff.
