Extra Long DP Connector (not cable)?

So I'm pretty annoyed at my case (Coolmaster NSE-200-KKN1 R) at the moment because I can't fit the display port connector into my graphics card (HDMI and DVI both work). This case has a little ridge flush with the top of the opening slot that is interfering with plugging into the top GTX 1070 ports, I'm less than a millimeter shy of obtaining a full connection.

I was excited to upgrade to ASUS XB271HU and a GTX 1070 for a nice quick plug and play upgrade that didn't require building another computer. Are there display ports with extra long metallic connectors such that the more heavy plastic part of it won't interfere with this annoying ridge of my case? If I have to go put everything into one of my older cases this is going to be aggravating.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Seeing how they kind of lock I'm not sure if such a cable is made.

Why not just do a simple case mod? You could probably just pinch the little lip down with some pliers in the end.

Did you try and shift the card down a little bit yet?

My board only has a single PCIE-16, otherwise the lower slots would work perfectly. The clearance issue is such that I can't just tilt my card lower without impacting the PCIE connection. I did actually take some pliers to the ridge but it's pretty robust and I just ended up scrapping the paint with no movement of the metal. I figure if I have to do heavy modification work I will want to strip out the MOBO which at that point I might as well plug them into one of my other cases.

I figured this was a longshot, thanks anyways for replying.

What about modding the connector? A cable is a bit cheaper than a case ;)

I'm pretty positive that you should be able to grind off the first 3mm (3mm long, about 1mm deep) of the plastic casing (up to the locking lever).

Your average pocket knife should make quick work of the plastic on the connector to make it fit.

Well, I took my hacksaw to the plastic and underneath it is also a raised metallic portion that still is somewhat blocking the connection. However, I can establish a connection now! Even though the DP is not fully locked in the slot (I can pull it out easily without pressing the release).

Thanks for the ideas.
