i really want to buy somethings from ebay but it's very difficult to be home for the mail, and i don't live in a area where it's safe to leave a package on the doorstep, is there some kind of alternative out there for this predicament, such as a large p.o box that will accept packages and the like?

UPS refuses to ship to PO boxes so that already limits your options. Or you can possibly have it delivered to your workplace?

When you receive a package that is too large to fit into your PO Box, they put a card in your PO Box asking you to go to the front desk to receive your package.

yup yup, they give out little yellow cards at mine. you just go up to the window and give them there card back (its just a geneic you have a package card so they re-use them) ans say your box number. my post office only has 800 boxes or so and only uses about 1/3 of those so they don't ask for ID there on a first name basis with everyone there.
