I just replaced my old HDD with a Maxtor 30 GB 7200 RPM hard drive, and now in My Computer there is a C: drive (the Maxtor) a D: drive (what is this?) and an E: and F: drive (CD-ROM and CD-RW.) I was wondering why this new D: drive showed up all of a sudden and if there was a way to remove it...or do I need it? Thanks for the help.

Did you remove your old drive? If not then that is it? Else did you partition your hard drive? If so it is showing the separate partitions. Check the properties of this new D: drive. How big is it? What is on it?

If you are still not sure, go to DOS with a bootdisk and run FDISK and check your partition info.

Yea, i removed my old 3 GB HDD. I'm not sure if I partioned the Maxtor...I let Ghost 2001 do all the work. The new D: drive is 3.08 GB in total size (could this be the old HDD and it just didn't erase the drive?) and all it has on it is a hidden Recycle Bin. I ran fdisk and here's the screenshot. thanks.
