Might be a cost savings if it's meant to reduce the expense of maintaining fire extinguishers. If they are banned in private homes then that's a bit much.

You're suppose to hurl the entire extinguisher into the flames right? It works like a reverse grenade.

Small fires generally become big fires if action isn't taken immediately. Not a good thing if you're really concerned about life safety. I smell a rat.

LOL at the people arguing the average person isn't smart enough to use an extinguisher.

But no worries, that small popcorn fire won't get past the fire retardant door once it burns half the kitchen down.

This is how UK deals with budget problems. Instead of letting people put out small fires before it's a big problem, people should immediately call 0118-999-881-999-199-7253 and waste about $10,000 worth of resources to put it out.
