Please tell me that's an April Fools Day video, please?
I first saw it a couple years ago on an arborist forum. Nobody had a good opinion of it. I'm not sure you can buy it anywhere. It looks like one of those "clever" ideas that never takes off.

My opinion is it might be worth keeping in the truck for really sketchy storm cleanup, but it would only come out once in a blue boon If it is for sale, I bet the cost would be prohibitive to use it that way.

I wonder if it has a disclaimer: not suitable for being hit by logs over x inches in diameter.

Probably a judgement call. I don't think pros are prone to lawsuits, barring defective products. The whole thing is a game of estimation, and using your best judgement. I know a guy that was killed a couple years ago by a falling branch. It was big enough that that shell probably would've been destroyed, and he still would've gotten fucked up. You can get better from fucked up. There's no recovery from dead.

So jealous you got to do the ice caverns!!

Iceland was my first international vacation. I'd love to go back in the winter again, as well as the spring when everything is green. Especially pthorfinger

Did you visit the penis museum in Reykjavik?

Ha no we didn't
Hey @Exterous did you purchase any souvenirs from your trip?
We'll get something small that reminds us of the area and then hopefully 1-2 christmas tree ornaments. That said our two trees have color themes (red and blue/silver) so they have to be something we like AND go with the theme.

The otter and glass marble are from Seattle (because we saw otters and went to a glass shop) the sheep is from Scotland, the chickens and fish are from Kauai, Rome is obvious, the egg is from Russia and the lamp is from Abu DhabiCapture.JPG

We went out two different nights to get northern lights pictures. We saw them the first night but they were very faint and hard to see. The second night though...holy cow. Did not disappoint. Camera sensors do a better job of seeing them than your eyes do but we could very much see the reds and purples in addition to the greens. And we could see them slowly dance and move. It was absolutely phenomenal. We stayed out there for a couple of hours despite the frigid temperatures. Taking the gloves off to adjust camera settings was an interesting (coNYE 24-25 Iceland -106.jpgNYE 24-25 Iceland -116.jpgNYE 24-25 Iceland -118.jpgld) experience but well worth it.NYE 24-25 Iceland -123.jpgNYE 24-25 Iceland -136.jpg

Wow....absolutely beautiful. I can not even imaging what it must have looked like in person.

But did you have any Hákarl while you were there?
We had an Icelandic electrician working with us, a while back, that used to bring it for lunch at least once a week (as a dessert/appetizer).
No one would sit near him after the first time !

No - I smelled it our last trip to Iceland and that was enough for one lifetime

New Year's day we went to an outdoors hot pool place. That was quite an experience too because being wet in the 32F air temp + wind is not great although it did get a bit easier to move between the various temperature pools. And yes I did go out into the ocean twice which was....bracing. Taking pictures while in the pools is a bit tough though so we don't have a ton

wow, that is .. different. and far too adventurous for me. I mean .. i don't mind risk - but i do mind effort, when i'm on holiday.
