external USB2.0 video capture/encoder devices

I'm interested in an external USB2.0 video capture/encoder device to use with an Hi8/8mm camcorder. The camcorder has S-VID output and a single composite AV jack (miniplug). My budget is $75.00 max.

Any recommendations would be appreciated (best for money).

I like my ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0. Everybody hates ATI capture devices for some reason but I love mine. The software's not perfect but it's sufficient. I've done many recordings and IMO the quality is quite good. Yes, it is relatively high-latency so it wouldn't be good for realtime stuff.

I was afraid of trying DScaler with it since it has a risk of overwriting your device's firmware, but it looks like people on the Newegg reviews are having good luck with it. I'd rate the hardware very good and the ATI MMC software medicore to fair.
