I have a Compaq Presario 2120US, I installed an external Maxtor 5000LE thru a PCMCIA USB2.0 Card Controller.
I am running under Win XP Professional.
Problem:
When I tried to copy files from my notebook hard disk to the Maxtor 5000LE, they took forever to copy them to the external hard drive.
The files that I tried to copy were three MPEG files, each one of 4.3 GB in size.
I transfered first one, it tool 1hour 20 minutes, then I decided two transfer the other two at the same time.
They start copying at 10:30pm and end at 8:00am next day.
Can somebody tell me is this is normal and also how much time it takes to transfer 1GB from an internal HD to an external HD.
Do I have to change the external USB2.0 HD to an external Fireware HD ???
Please help me.
