Went to my local Staples, found the ACER 4x4x6 external USB CDRW was on clearnace for only $52.50 and grabbed the last one with the 10off30 coupon. $44.xx out door for me. I don't know if this is national or not. You can try.

These thing are so slow...

I owned the iomega 4x4x6x External CD-RW from staples, for $36.xx Deal months ago, and well 1, it was bulky, 2 it took about 25 min to burn a cd...

big pain...

just a heads up...

having no fast cdrw burner for my laptop is the only pain.....is there a fast external burner for a 1.0 usb port? all the fast ones are 2.0 which my laptop does not support =[

usb 1.0 is limited in bandwidth.. you arent likely to be able to get data going over it fast enough to burn faster than 4x.

a 4x CD burner should do it in around 18minutes. (74minute/4 = 18.5). It is slow but its cheap.
