External SATA Question

I'm looking to get an external SATA drive. I want to know if there exists a card slot adapter that's essentially a male - male coupler. I want to have it connected to an onboard SATA on the inside, so I can just plug the drive into the card slot.

Does anything like this exist?

That's what I'm looking for, only with the 4 female adapters on the outside too.
