Im trying to hunt down an external enclosure for a laptop sata hard drive. I can find them no problem but the issue is they are all for the 9.5mm laptop drives.

I need to fine one for a 12mm laptop drive, they are thicker.

I've looked at all the ones that im more familiar with but no one has any.

Tough one!

If your not in the states, I found 2 models from RaidSonic(IB-250StUE-B and IB-250StUH-B). I couldn't find either model avaliable in the USA.

If you're in the states, I found this on Ebay. It's really a docking station and not what you want.

Also looks like A.C.Ryan has a couple. IDK if they're avaliable in the states.

Not much good news but at least I tried.

I see you've been at this for a couple of months without much luck. There are not many 12mm laptop drives out there these days.

Consider a totally different appoach if this drive is important to you. SATA connectors are standard for both 2.5 and 3.5-in drives. I decided to try an put a 2.5 in SATA drive in a 3.5-in SATA case - a NexStar 3. It works nicely, and there is plenty of space for a 12mm thick puppy.

The only problem to over come is fastening the 2.5 drive onto the 3.5 holding plate. A piece of duct tape across the tail end should do it.

Here's a new 2.5 SATA in a 3.5 SATA case:

I see you live in NB, Canada. Jack's find is a good one. Now you have choices.
