Does anyone know who still makes External Raid Setups, they use to be very prevelant a couple of years ago, however I cant find any companies still making Raid cards that are SCSI-SCSI.

Im basically looking for something Ultra80 or Ultra160, and fits in either a 5.25" bay, or is even rack mountable itself.

Anyone know if such beats are still being made? (Ive got an old infotrend Wide 20meg/s controller in front of me, but it just doesnt cut it anymore).

SCSI to SCSI External RAID is kinda old these days.... FC to SCSI or FC to FC is more likely. Mylex makes 'em. IBM & LSI make 'em. They will put a hurtin' on your checkbook though. Not sure what you mean about the 5.25 bay. The ones I refer to are external rack mounted HDD enclusures that hold 10-14 drives plus RAID controllers + Redundant fans and power.

SCSIRAID, Im talking about things very similiar to that, However I dont want Fibre Channel (need to be able to swap drives). It can be contained all in one (where drives and controller are in same chassis) but They are all limited to 8 drives where I need 10-12.

The Sun A1000 is a perfect example of what I need, however it uses 40Meg/s Differential Scsi, so the ability to throw it on any scsi card is extremely limited, and it is stuck at a godly slow 40Meg/s (When your planning on raiding 10 72gig cheetahs .... :) >primarily looking for space and reliability, with good access times, not speed, hence 80 or 160MB/s is fine<
