External Keyboard with PS2 interface

My laptop keyboard does not work well after getting a shower of iced COKE couple of weeks back 🙂. I bought an external iconcepts keyboard which has a PS2 interface. I had a PS2 to USB converter. I used this to connect the device to my laptop but to no avail.
My computer does not recognize the keyboard.
Any help!
 
Usually, it is necessary to go into the laptop's BIOS settings and set it to allow an external keyboard, etc.
