This project is mostly finished. The measured smart temps are 30/31C...that's down 10C over the internal mounting. The 120mm fan is running at 1300rpms and very quiet. Removing the two Maxtor drives from the case helped the case temp quite a bit. I removed the front case fan completely. The setup is working just fine.
