I was setting up my (then) new rig and accidentally plugged in one of the grouped USB plugs the wrong way on my motherboard. I only discovered the error when I plugged in my Western Digital Passport 60GB drive and it shorted my motherboard.
The good news is everything else still works fine, mobo and stuff, and the USB port worked properly after I reversed the plug.
The bad news is my passport drive isn't working now. When I plug it in Windows says that it can't recognize it.
My sys. specs are as listed in my sig, if anyone knows how to recover data from a HDD with the problem as described, I would really appreciate it.
