External HD is hidden in My Computer and listed as EISA

Hi all,

I reset a Vista install back to factory and I had an external HD attached when I did it. Apparently it did something to the External HD and it is now listed as an EISA partition in Disk mgmt.

This HD is my backup of the information I formatted so I need to get it back. Is there a way to get this to not show up as an EISA drive? It is listed in device manager but I just can't get to it. I have tried some stuff in Disk part but it did not work.

I have tried it on 2 desktops(1 vista and 1 XP) and 2 laptopns (1 vista and 1 xp). I makes no difference which computer I hook up to. I have not tried to remove the HD from the case but will if it will work.

Please help.
