We have 6 people who are requesting external HD's to backup their work.
Some have said they also want to backup their system.
I am pretty sure that the software that comes with maxtor or wd external
one click type drives do NOT do system backups like ghost but I am not sure
having never seen one of these drives in action...(i just use an external case, hd and ghost) hehe

can someone enlighten me on what you can and can't do with these drives and the included software
and if you have experience with these make any kind of recomendation on what they should get
these people have dual 40 gig ide drives in their systems and mostly the os, office and statistical packages on drive c and work files on drive d....c ranges from 5 to 6 gigs and d runs from 10-20 gigs
so I was thinking something in the range of 80-120 gig external would be sufficient...would this be big enough?

thanks for any and all help

If I was going to do it, I would probably make the external drives myself rather than buying a prepack from Maxtor, WD etc. External USB2 and/or FW drive cases are cheap and plentiful and you can get 160 Gig drives for as low as $50. AR these days. I think PC World had a recent review of backup solutions including the prepack external drives.
