I am looking for a external HD kit which has NIC that wayI can attach that drive to my router and use it as a network drive , I didn't see any on newegg do they exist.

You need a storage server appliance (which the linksys is). Snap and Mirra are the only brands I can think of offhand.

You will not find a $30 Bytecc enclosure that works as a stand-alone network drive, because usb/firewire are "dumb" and controlled by the specific PC, while an ethernet connection to the router requires the box to be "smart" and act as a little file server.
