External Hardrive questions

I have purchased one that is about double the size of my internal one. How do I configure both? What I want to do is, use the external as "backup and storage" for every thing on the internal. This dummy doesn't have a clue how to start.

One thing, if your external is a hot swap, you may want to consider a FAT32 format. That way, you know it will work in just about any computer you want to plug into.
