External Hard Drive w/Network

I've done some reading about th is one. And it's kinda a cool concept but it isn't perfect. To use it via the network on multiple machines you have two options.

1) Install special drivers on each box that needs access to it.
2) Install special drivers on one machine and use Windows File/Print Sharing to share it with the other machines and have them mount it like any other Windows share.

That is a bummer that is not accessible via all computers on the network. I'll have to think about what I want to do now.

Like I said it can be accessible via all of them, it just not plug and playable. You have to either install drivers on each sys, or share it out from one sys which has the drivers.

The review I read said that you could access it with all systems on your network with the software manager loaded but NO two machines could access the drive at the same time.
