External Firewire HD anyone?

anyone has an external firewire HD hooked up to their Windows xp box?

Sometimes the drive letter doesn't appear in my computer. but device manager sees it.

the only solution i found so far is to remove the firewire card and move it to another slot to let it redetec both drive and card...

help please.
 
I had similar problems with and external 1394 drive in XP. I went back to 2000. Fixed the problem for me 🙂
