"External Exception" error

i just installed a linksys wireless g pcmcia adapter on a laptop and i keep getting this 'external exception' error that pops up every other second. it says its part of the linksys system monitor. has anyone seen this before or know whats going on? the laptop meets system requirements and all drivers are installed and updated for the card.
