External Enclosure

anyone have any experience with external enclosures for hard drives?

I plan on using it for a) data backups (so I don't need to keep opening up my case) and b) to carry large amounts of data with me on the road (ie: storing all my movies/mp3s and hooking it up to my laptop).

any feedback would be appreciated thanks!
