External DVD Burners

My brother wants an external DVD burner for Christmas.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a good external?

I thought http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16827106098">this DVD burner</a> would be great, buy my question is:
What does external offer over internal, and will he still get the full potential of the drive with only have USB2.0 or is eSATA a better route?
If eSATA is the better route, what do I need to hook it up?

He has a 7 year old P4 2.0ghz Dell computer (boooooo).
**Update** He does not have USB2.0 either. I am guessing get a USB2.0 adapter or eSATA adapter for all this stuff?

Thanks!.....again!!!

eSATA is not necessary for an external DVD burner. USB 2 is sufficient. You will need a USB 2.0 PCI card for that system.

Your link doesn't work - but any of these will be OK - pick the one that suits your budget.

I personally would shoose the Liteon Black for $64.99 plus the PCI card needed.

For half the price you can get a black Samsung internal PATA (IDE) burner. No PCI card needed.
