External DVD burner to Internal DVD burner

I have an External DVD burner that I used to use for my laptop, I recently purchased a desktop and I was wondering if its possible to take the DVD burner out of the enclosure and put it into my desktop?

Thanks

Yes, I did that procedure from internal to exterior and vice-versa.

But depending on the model, unless its a 18X DVD burner, it wouldn't be an improvement or advantage to remove from its portable enclosure.

Very simple. disassemble the external enclosure, and you will find inside.... *drumroll*

A totally standard 5.25" internal DVD burner, complete with IDE and Molex connectors.

Pull it out, pin the jumper as necessary and connect her up. Brainless.
