I am looking for an external drive of atleast 80gb with USB2.0 and firewire. I need it to work on my computer that has an audigy with firewire and an asus p4b-533(dont remeber if there is a letter after) they all have usb 2.0.

However, I need it also to work with my dad's powerbook titanium with firewire.

Any sugestions?

Please quick, I need it soon as I've gotta backup and RMA soon.

There are lots of choices. The most flexible is an external Firewire/USB 2 housing that will accept any drive of your choice. It's a good way to use older smaller drives - like 40 GB or so.

Found this combo enclosure at NewEgg - both USB 2 and 1394 - you can use any IDE HDD you want. Less than $80 for the enclosure. (Scroll down to Combo)

No, the Combo drive on the bottom of the list I linked to supports Mac as well as PC - of course both have to be fairly modern and have Firewire and/or USB 2. I have both Firewire on my PCs and use both types of devices with no problems. The problem, as I see it, is how the drive is formatted. Hardware-wise, it will work on both PCs and Macs. But data wise, I believe the Mac would have to have the PC Emulation feature to read the drive.
