External drive enclosure limits

Does anyone understand why some USB drive enclosures have a limit of 250GB?

137GB I would understand but 250GB...?

Can anyone recommend an enclosure that works OK with drives of 300GB+, preferably with Firewire as an option too?

Most newer enclosures will support 300++ hardrives.

I just bought one from NewEgg and put a 320gb drive in it.

It supports both PATA and SATA - nice
