I have an IDE CD-RW burner (Ricoh mp7040A modified to MP7060A) and I am thinking of buying a drive case for it and making it external, so I can use it with a notebook. Has anyone had any experiences with these enclosures that convert from IDE to parallel or USB, and if so, what are the issues, and what model would you recommend? Thanks.
Oh, and what are the comprimises in terms of speed and cpu utilization of USB vs. Parallel?
