External cell phone vibrate alert?

My cell phone survived it's trip through the wash (including fabric softener), but in the weeks since then the vibrate function has ceased to work. It got weaker & weaker & now doesn't vibrate at all.

I really don't want to replace the phone right now, but I frequently need silent mode. I've seen pens and other novelty crap that flashes/sings/whatever when calls come in on a phone that's close by (example), how about a simple vibrator? Something that clips on the inside of a belt perhaps?

Anybody know of such a product?

Oh, and the vibrate function of a Samsung S105 is located in the phone, right? I do have a spare battery if by some remote chance it's in the battery... Don't have it with me so I can't test it.

Doesn't most of the "proximity flasher" stuff require a GSM phone? I have a nice little dock for my cellphone in my truck, but it's below eye level, and if I have the windows down or the radio up loud, I don't hear my phone ring. I was going to mount some LEDs where I could see them go off, but I don't have a GSM phone.

You can get external vibrating beltclips for most phones. The problem is that they go off whenever they detect a signal. It will be going off when your phone rings, when the microwave is on, etc.

Try replacing your battery, you might not have enough juice in it to make the phone vibrate. Otherwise, PM M4H and tell him you need to get ahold of his mom. I bet she would know more about vibrators :)

LMAO

Anyways,

check it out.

I was thinking more like one of the retractable badge holders, but with the bulk of the device inside the belt (where you can feel it).

My cell phone stays in my pocket, I'm not going to wear it on my belt.

My phone is a GSM phone, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Oh, and :p on the vibrator jokes, I knew they were coming.
