External CDr drive, pls recommend

Hi guys, I am intending to buy a external Cdr drive for my laptop and have absolutely no idea which model or brand is good.
I hope u guys whom already own a external cdr drive can recommend a gd set to me.

I'm also in the market for this item. So far the two items I really like is the Iomega Predator (4x USB and 8X Firewire) and the Sony Spressa which is 12X on firewire. The big difference is the price of the Iomega being more expensive but is really tiny compare to the Sony.😎
 
if you wanna go firewire , the easiest way to do it is buy a firewire card pc card for $65 or so online. I searched pricewatch and got a nice TI chipset based one that was dongleless. You can pick up an external firewire 5.25 inch enclosure for around $90 shipped if you look around. 3.5 inch enclosures seem to cost more (i have one) since they are smaller just to let you know. then head on over to best buy where they carry the 12x8x32 LGS cdrw for $99 with the 8mb buffer. Assemble and you are done, and are only slightly more expensive than either of the two USB ones, with 3 times the burn speed, and you have firewire for dv cams now.
